Day 1 – Mountain Ride in Ouirgane
Arrival in Ouirgane, a tranquil village nestled in the Atlas Mountains. After settling in, enjoy a 3-hour afternoon ride, passing olive groves and riding along a serene lake, with a scenic picnic stop.
In the evening, savor a freshly cooked Moroccan dinner in your charming guesthouse.
Day 2 – Ride to the Salt Mines of Marigha & Transfer to Marrakech
After breakfast, saddle up for your final mountain ride along scenic trails to the historic salt mines of Marigha. Learn about centuries-old traditions and enjoy a picnic lunch with views of the Toubkal Massif.
In the afternoon, transfer to Marrakech and stay overnight in a riad. Optional farewell dinner in the city can be arranged (additional personal expense).
Day 3 – Marrakech to Merzouga via Aït Ben Haddou
After breakfast, begin the scenic drive toward the Sahara (approx. 9.5 hours). Cross the dramatic High Atlas Mountains, passing villages and desert plains.
Stop at the legendary Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-protected clay village rising like a mirage. Enjoy a magical 1-hour horseback ride through the ksar, with the sun casting golden light on its towers and the mountains framing the horizon.
Continue to Merzouga, where the golden dunes of the Sahara await. Overnight in desert camp.
Day 4 – Lake Dayet Srji & Gnawa Village
Meet at the stables in the morning and ride toward Lake Dayet Srji, a seasonal salt lake fed by the Atlas Mountains. From there, continue to a Gnawa village, where centuries-old music and culture enchant you during a relaxing lunch.
In the afternoon, follow a dry riverbed through fertile desert soil, with stony plains on one side and dunes on the other. At sunset, arrive at your Berber desert camp, where dinner is served under the starry sky, accompanied by drums and Berber songs.
Day 5 – Deep Into the Erg Chebbi Dunes
After breakfast, venture deep into the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, riding through endless golden sands and profound desert silence. Picnic lunch at the edge of the dunes, followed by a ride into the Hamada (Stone Desert), a raw, untamed landscape that inspires awe and reflection.
In the evening, arrive at your nomadic desert camp, enjoy a traditional Berber dinner, and share stories around the campfire beneath a canopy of stars.
Day 6 – Sunrise & Return to Merzouga
Optional early rise to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise. After breakfast, ride back along the edge of the dunes and across the black desert, stopping for a shaded picnic lunch.
Return to the stables near Merzouga, bid farewell to your horses, and spend your final night in the Sahara.
