Join us for a 6–8 day horseback journey along Morocco’s Atlantic coast. Starting near the coastal town of Essaouira, you’ll ride south through quiet beaches, Berber villages, argan forests, and along rugged cliffs, finishing near Taghazout, just north of Agadir.
Each day follows a natural rhythm shaped by the landscape and the pace of the horses. Evenings are spent in traditional bivouacs, where you can rest, share a meal, and enjoy simple, freshly prepared Moroccan food by the support team.
Day 1: Arrival in Essaouira
Feel the ocean breeze as you arrive in the bohemian coastal town of Essaouira. Take time to wander along its narrow streets, admire the whitewashed walls trimmed with blue, and soak in the relaxed, artistic atmosphere that fills this seaside haven. The medina hums with life—craftsmen at work, vibrant markets, and the distant sound of waves meeting the shore.
In the evening, enjoy a calm moment to settle in and prepare for the adventure ahead, letting the rhythm of the town and the scent of the Atlantic set the perfect tone for your journey. You will spend the night in a cozy Riad in the heart of the medina.
Day 2: Into the Wild — The Journey Begins
Sidi Kaouki to Tafedna
Your first full day on horseback sets the tone for the days ahead. Leaving Sidi Kaouki behind, you ride south along wide, open beaches where the Atlantic stretches endlessly beside you. There’s space here to pick up the pace, with long stretches of sand inviting an easy gallop.
Along the way, the landscape shifts—small waterfalls meet the shore, and argan trees appear further inland, rooted in the dry, rugged terrain. It’s a route that feels both remote and quietly alive.
By late afternoon, you reach the fishing village of Tafedna, a calm and unassuming place where daily life follows the rhythm of the sea.

Day 3: Along the Cliffs — Ocean at Your Side
The trail leads you along wild cliffs and rocky coastal paths, passing Cap Tafelney. The terrain becomes more rugged here, with the ocean constantly in view below—wide, open, and ever-changing.
It’s a day defined by the landscape: steady riding, fresh sea air, and long stretches where it feels like there’s nothing but you, the horses, and the coastline.
Overnight: Cliffside bivouac at Imardidsen.
Day 4: Through Villages and Argan Forests
From Imardidsen to Tildi
Today’s ride takes you inland at times, through small Berber villages where daily life unfolds at an unhurried pace. You pass stone-walled fields and stretches of argan forest, with the landscape shifting between cultivated land and open terrain.
As the day continues, the ocean gradually comes back into view, revealing wide coastal perspectives from above.

Day 5: Dunes and River Valleys
From Tildi to Tamri
The landscape shifts again today, opening into a more arid, almost desert-like environment. You ride across soft dunes and along stretches of open ground where the horizon feels wide and uninterrupted. Along the way, pink sandstone formations rise from the الأرض, shaped over time by wind and salt air, adding a striking contrast to the muted tones of sand and sky.
The pace of the day is steady, giving you time to take in the quiet and the changing textures of the land beneath you. Gradually, as you near Tamri, the scenery softens. The trail follows the river valley, where water brings life back into the landscape—palm trees, low vegetation, and a cooler, greener atmosphere.
By the time you reach camp, the setting feels calm and sheltered, a natural pause after a long day of riding.

Day 6: Final Stretch — Toward Aghroude
From Tamri to Aghroude
Your last day in the saddle follows remote trails that wind between the coast and open land. The terrain feels varied and untamed, with stretches of wild shoreline alternating with quieter inland paths.
As you get closer to Aghroude, you pass through a small village known for its colorful houses—painted in soft blues, pinks, yellows, and greens. These bright tones are partly practical, helping to reflect the strong sun and protect the walls, but they also reflect a local tradition of adding personality and warmth to the built environment. The result is a place that feels lively and welcoming, even in a remote setting.
There’s a sense of arrival here. The ocean remains close, and the pace of the ride slows, giving you time to take in the last moments on horseback and the landscapes you’ve crossed over the past days.

Final Gallop and Farewell by the Sea — Aghroude to Imi Ouaddar / Taghazout
Wake gently with the soft hush of the ocean and the golden light of morning. This is your last day in the saddle, and it begins with a quiet, almost dreamlike ride along the coast—where the rhythm of the waves meets the steady heartbeat of your horse. The air is fresh, tinged with salt and possibility, as if the sea itself is whispering a farewell.
Let your horse carry you one last time across the open stretches of sand, where every hoofprint feels like a memory being written and erased all at once. There’s no rush—just the wind in your hair, the endless horizon, and the quiet bond you’ve built over these days.
You’ll pause for a magical beach picnic, set against the backdrop of rolling waves.
Then comes the bittersweet moment: saying goodbye to the horses. A final stroke along their necks, a quiet thank you, an unspoken understanding. These companions carried you not just across landscapes, but through an experience you’ll hold long after you leave.
From there, you’ll settle into a charming seaside guesthouse or apartment near Imi Ouaddar or Taghazout. The evening is yours—perhaps a walk along the shore as the sky turns shades of amber and rose, or simply relaxing to the sound of waves, letting it all sink in.

Your final morning arrives softly, like the closing lines of a beautiful story. Enjoy a peaceful breakfast by the sea, the Atlantic stretching endlessly before you, as if inviting you to stay just a little longer.
Depending on your departure time, you may have a few last moments to savor: wander through local shops, pick up handcrafted treasures, sip one more glass of mint tea, or even dip your toes into the ocean. For those who wish, a final touch of Moroccan relaxation—a traditional hammam or a gentle surf session—can be the perfect way to complete your journey.

During the trek, you’ll stay in cozy bivouacs tucked into scenic spots along the coast and inland trails. Each camp is fully supported by our team, ensuring your experience is comfortable and seamless while keeping a close connection to the natural surroundings.
The bivouacs feature spacious tents for sleeping under the stars, along with practical facilities: a separate shower tent for privacy and a bio-toilet to minimize environmental impact. Even in remote areas, you’ll have the comforts needed to refresh and unwind after a day in the saddle.
On the first day, accommodation is in a riad in Essaouira’s medina, offering a charming introduction to Moroccan life. Optional guesthouses, including a stay in Imi Ouaddar on the final day, provide additional comfort for those who prefer it.
Throughout the journey, you’ll enjoy fresh, hearty Moroccan dishes prepared daily by our support team. Breakfasts are simple and energizing, while lunches feature salads, grilled dishes, or tajines made with seasonal ingredients, giving you a real taste of local flavors.
